Eccentric vibrating machinery provides installation challenges in buildings. The vibration levels disturb adjacent buildings/neighbours causing noise complaints. In addition, excessive vibration levels cause fatigue to machine operators.
In order to reduce the level of vibration on the machinery, it is advisable to install the machine with anti vibration mounts that provide a sufficiently low natural frequency so that a high degree of isolation is achieved. Eccentric machinery that rotates at low frequencies requires anti vibration mounts that have low natural frequency to achieve correct vibration isolation values. For this purpose, low stiffness is required.
Low stiffness is achieved with high deflection mounts. However, high deflected mounts provide unstable installations. Unstable installations consequently generate difficulties as they become more complex to manoeuvre, lead to lower quality of end product (reduced level of outcome quality of stamping) as well as unsafe behaviour for the operator.
The instability of a suspended element (machine, press, etc.) can be corrected using anti vibration mounts that incorporate energy dissipation properties. This feature allows a reduction of displacement of the suspended element, machine or press, as shown in the graph below.
The above video shows the angle loss of an AMC-MECANOCAUCHO ANTISEISMIC VIBRABSORBER+SYLOMER VISCO SPRING MOUNT at a range of 30º
The video below shows the same stamping press with spring mounts that do not have energy dissipation vs machine with ANTISEISMIC VIBRABSORBER+SYLOMER VISCO SPRING MOUNTS.
