Furring channels are a popular masonry component in suspended ceilings:
The typical way to fasten them to the wall or to the ceiling is using clips that hold the channel from both sides. These clips are usually valid only for furring channels of specific dimensions.
Akustik + Sylomer® Sound Clip, however, can be installed with different sizes of furring channels. They can accommodate furring channels of width from 68mm to 82mm. This feature is achieved thanks to the unique way it is installed.
First, it is fastened to the wall without fully tightening the screw:
The furring channels are then put in to place and the Akustik + Sylomer® Sound Clip is rotated to firmly hold the furring channel:
Finally, the Akustik + Sylomer® Sound Clip is secured using the holes at both sides:
Akustik + Sylomer® Sound Clip can also be used to suspend ceilings, and thanks to its shape, the space loss is minimal:
The space required between the wall and the plasterboard is considerably smaller than with other conventional wall ties, as shown in the next example:
